Autonomous knitting creates soft robotic ‘banana fingers’

actuator collageUS scientists at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology have created a rapid design and fabrication tool to create a glove containing soft pneumatic actuators. With knitted-in integrated sensors, the glove can be used to power personalised healthcare and smart homes as well as gaming applications.
