Scientists from the UK’s University of Manchester have combined graphene with jute to create what is claimed to be a world’s first for graphene-strengthened natural jute fibre composites.
The breakthrough could lead to the manufacture of high-performance and environmentally friendly natural fibre composites that could replace their synthetic counterparts in a range of manufacturing areas, including the automotive industry and ship building.
