Knitted patch for treatment of congenital heart disease

synfoliumA knitted surgical patch that could improve the surgical treatment of patients with congenital heart disease is to be marketed by a consortium in Japan.

The consortium, which consists of Osaka Medical and Pharmaceutical University, warp-knitting specialist Fukui Tateami and Teijin Group, says the Synfolium knitted patch, which has been under development since 2014, could reduce the need for further surgical interventions.
