Smart fabric's potential for energy harvesting and health monitoring

power up your health w 1Researchers at the University of Waterloo in Canada have developed a new smart fabric that can convert body heat and solar energy into electricity, potentially enabling continuous operation with no need for an external power source.

The fabric has the potential for energy harvesting, health monitoring and movement tracking applications.

Different sensors monitoring temperature, stress and other variables can be integrated into the material.
