Lightweight, ecological and comfortable aircraft seating

IQPC’s annual Innovative Aircraft Seating Conference held in Hamburg, Germany, in October highlighted some interesting developments that offer new opportunities for textile seat cover manufacturers.

German aircraft seat manufacturer Recaro has developed the BL3530 seat bottom diaphragm, which is lightweight with a high level of comfort, optimal spatial utilisation and maximum space for passengers.

This is achieved by significantly reducing the thickness of the bottom seat, with a 30% weight reduction and low volume. It is adaptive and flexible with high tensile strength, and employs textile seat covers that are breathable and moisture absorbing with high thermo-physiological comfort.
