Economic recovery leads to increasing Thai cotton imports

For the 2016/17 marketing year, Thai cotton imports are forecast to increase to 1.4m bales, up 6% from 2015/16. Thai spinning mills are expected to recover from the economic downturn over the past couple of years in anticipation of a sustained economic recovery in 2016-2017.

2016/17 imports of US cotton are expected to increase to 450,000 bales, up 6% from 2015/16, reports the Bremen Cotton Exchange.
