BTK Group to produce Russian army uniforms

BTK Group, one of Russia’s largest producers of men’s clothing and uniforms, has signed a contract with the Russian Ministry of Defence for the production of 1m sets of military uniform for the Russian army by 2016. The contract is worth an estimated at RUB50bn (US$1.5bn).

So far, the company has already started production at its factory in St Petersburg. According to Andrew Podoprigorin, head of BTK’s department for cooperation with the federal government, delivery of the new uniforms will take place in three stages.

This year, the company will supply 100,000 sets, next year this will be increased to 400,000 sets, while in 2015 500,000 sets will be supplied.
