3D-printed graphene-biopolymer aerogels for water filtration

aeroA new process of three-dimensionally printing graphene aerogels overcomes two key hurdles — scalability and creating a version of the material stable enough for repeated use — making them potentially suitable for water filtration applications.

University at Buffalo engineers have been making aerogels with a graphene-based ink in combination with two bio-inspired polymers — polydopamine and bovine serum albumin, a protein derived from cows.
