US is Malaysia's leading export market

The Malaysian textile and textile products industry became the country’s 11th largest export earner in 2017, accounting for MYR15.3bn (US$3.72bn) – 1.6% of total exports of manufactured goods.

The US was the leading export market for Malaysia’s textile products, purchasing MYR2.2bn (US$535m) or 14.6% of the industry’s total exports, followed by Japan and Turkey.
