Japanese aid for Philippine silk industry

The Japanese government has given PHP24m (US$475,000) towards a project to develop model sericulture farmers aimed at increasing the production of cocoons and high-quality raw silk in the Philippines.

The project will be implemented through the Grant Assistance for Japanese NGO Projects, a small-grant funding programme of Japan’s Official Development Assistance.
