Czech textile and clothing sales grow 10.7% in H1

Sales in the Czech Republic’s textile and clothing industry increased by 10.7% year-on-year to CZK26.6bn (US$1.22bn) in the first half on 2014, according to the data released by the Association of Textile, Clothing and Leather Industry (ATOK) – the highest figure value recorded after the economic crisis in country.

The production of textiles increased by 12%, while the production of garments increased by 2.1%. Sales in the textile sector were valued at CZK23.4bn (US$1.08bn) and sales in the clothing sector were worth CZK3.2bn (US$147m). The total combined sales in the textile and clothing industry increased by 10.7% compared with the corresponding period of 2013.
