Finger pad friction is a key to haptic control

fingerprintA thorough understanding of the self-regulating moisture mechanism of human fingerprints could help in the development of more tactile sensors, an international research team believes.

Scientists at the UK’s University of Birmingham have worked with partners at institutions in South Korea, including Seoul National University and Yonsei University, on the issue of finger pad friction and have published their findings.
